By the Wayside
This painting has been kind of a personal victory because I’ve actually painted it three different ways and this is the first time that I actually think it was successful. This painting’s inspiration is taken from the parable of the Good Samaritan, this is the man who is left to die by the wayside and is eventually rescued. It has been said that happiness is found in the service of others, and I think I’d like to have a more service oriented year. It’s so easy to get caught up in what you need, and what you want, and all that you have to do. So it’s good to be reminded of those who lie waiting by the wayside. 5″ x 11″ oil on masonite
