This painting, “Discouragement” was created one day when I was trying so hard to think of an idea for a painting, but none came. I finally decided to go into the studio with my husband and just take pictures, hoping that the picture taking would spark a creative idea. However, after several pictures, still, nothing was coming! Out of total frustration I dropped to my knees and put my hands in my hair, and my husband took the picture! This painting expresses that moment we all have felt when we just don’t know what to do next, but as with this painting, if we wait long enough and pray hard enough, eventually that answer comes!
