I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the condition of the world. It seems that which was once considered right is now considered “old fashioned”. One night of prime time television is enough to tell you that morals almost don’t exist anymore. We live in a time where “anything goes”and where people only seek to appease their natural appetites and passions. I’m reminded of the prophecy of Paul when he said, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. ” (2 Timothy 3:1). I feel like we’re living in those perilous times, and yet, as the world grows darker, it seems that the light I feel within me only grows brighter. My desire for goodness and to stand for what I know to be true only intensifies. I truly feel empowered to carry on, even when it’s not popular. And that’s what I tried to show in this painting, the power of goodness, and the power of truth. I honestly believe that in the end, right will always prevail. So may we seek out the good, and stand for it, and may we feel empowered in the process.
