This young girl is a dear friend of mine. I taught her in a Sunday School class when she was only 12, now she is 15, and it is amazing to me to see how much growing up has occurred in three years. When I was her teacher, there was still pieces of childhood in her, but somehow those pieces have all but vanished as now she is truly turning into a young woman. So in this painting I tried to capture that movement, that passing of time, for youth truly is fleeting. Enjoy!
