Windows

It’s been said that the eyes are the windows to the soul. I believe this to be true, sometimes you just have to take the time to remember to really look. People are not always what they seem. :)

As for the technical part of this painting, I took a trip to Laguna Beach last weekend to see an art exhibit. It was so inspiring to see really good artwork. I decided I could push myself farther and I could do better. I realized that it was the little things that took an artist from a rookie to a master, it was being willing to go that extra step. I think I have a tendency to give up too early on a piece, I get impatient wanting to post it and to move on to another, but I recognized that if I just kept going a little longer I could create a more professional painting. So this piece is the fruit of my labors. I spent a little more time, and I think it shows. I continue to learn so much about skin tone and the structure of the face. I think the flesh in this painting may be my most successful to date. Enjoy!
